Howard Kennedy, Digital Communications Manager
September 2014 – Present

I currently lead the implementation and development of the digital strategy at Howard Kennedy with responsibility for the day to day management of howardkennedy.com and associated microsites, email communication to clients, social media and internal communications.

I am responsible for the creation, deployment, development and reporting on the effectiveness of all online campaigns to team members and fee-earners, breaking down online jargon into easily digestible insights to help improve future campaigns and drive revenue and business opportunities.

I have built up the digital presence at Howard Kennedy from the ground up and continue to evangelise the power of digital to our lawyers, keeping them informed on the latest digital trends and channels to help maximise visibility online and generate business opportunities.

CMS, Digital Communications Manager
August 2013 – September 2014

At CMS I led and managed the implementation of the firm’s digital communications strategy, leading on the management of the firm’s website and social media initiatives.

I was responsible for planning and coordinating website content and the build of microsites with respective Business Development teams and Partners. I also supported the CMS website functionality development, working closely with our central brand team to identify requirements and roll-out solutions to improve the website design and usability.

I regularly reported on the effectiveness of the website and online campaigns, and provided best practice for the use of video content.

A main part of my role was to educate our fee-earners on the benefit of using digital to increase visibility and widen networks. I was responsible for the social media strategy at CMS and put in place training workshops to empower staff on social media best practice.


Investec, Digital Marketing Executive
December 2011 – August 2013

At Investec my role involved working on the design, production and sending of tactical emails and the build and management of web assets. I was also responsible for the implementation of the Private Bank’s social media strategy. A key part of this role was to increase the visibility and purchase of personal banking/savings accounts via affiliate and comparison sites. Including direct marketing acquisition campaigns.

Smith & Williamson, Online Communications Executive
March 2011 – December 2011

At Smith & Williamson I assisted with the management and development of 5 websites ensuring best practice and search engine optimisation SEO across all. I was also responsible for the management and development of the firm wide intranet site. Along with responsibility of developing and implementing the social media strategy and advising on the use of digital for all business areas to maximise online visibility and support business development initiatives.

Vantis, Tax Knowledge & Marketing Assistant
Jul 2008 – June 2010

At Vantis I supported Tax Knowledge and Marketing on the delivery of the strategy for the  tax department. Working closely with Directors and Management, marketing and business development for the different tax teams in London including Private Client Tax, Corporate Tax, Tax Disputes & Litigation, Employer Services and Sport. This was my first real entry to getting involved with digital and a found a bit of niche for myself with regards to digital in professional services.
